In the latest notification, ONGC is inviting Online Applications from young candidates for Assistant Technician posts for its branches in Chennai and Karaikal. The Exam Will be a Computer Based Test. Date of Examination will be available on the Official Website of ONGC.

ONGC Technician Jobs Salary Details:

Post Level(A2) – Rs.12,000 to 27,000/-

Similarly, Level(A1) – Rs.11,000 to 24,000/-

Also, Post Level(W1) – Rs.10,000 to 18,000/-

Eligibility Criteria and Qualifications

The minimum essential qualification required for these jobs is three years diploma in respective trades/ Matriculation/ Degree/ Certifications.

Also, candidates applying for Junior Fire Supervisor & Fireman have to qualify in the PST Test.

Moreover, Candidates must have all the valid certificates at the time of documents verification.

Selection Process

The selection shall be done through a Computer Based Test (CBT). Subsequently, followed by Physical Standards Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test(PET). Also, the selected candidates have to face the Typing Test or Driving Test wherever applicable. Therefore, All the shortlisted candidates in the CBT have to face the skill tests based on their trades. However, the details are as follows.

English Typing Test: 

Junior Assistant (Accounts), Junior Assistant (Personnel & Administration), Junior Assistant (Materials Management)

Hindi Typing Test:

Junior Assistant (Official Language)

Driving Test, Physical Standards Test, Physical Efficiency Test

Junior Fire Supervisor and Junior Fireman

Driving Test

Junior Motor Vehicle Driver (Heavy Vehicle)

Junior Motor Vehicle Driver (Winch Operations)

Physical Standards Requirements for Junior Fire Supervisor & Junior Fireman 

All categories – 168 Cms, Tribes/Hillmen 163 Cms –> Chest: 81 Cms. (with an expansion of 5 cms.)

Foe Male persons from State of Assam 163 Cms –> Chest: 79 Cms. (with an expansion of 5 cms.)

For Male persons from Tribes/Hillmen from State of Assam 160 Cms –> Chest: 79 Cms. (with an expansion of 5 cms.)

Female candidates of all categories –> 152 cms

Similarly, Female candidates of tribes/ Hillmen –> 147 cms

Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Parameters for Junior Fire Supervisor & Junior Fireman

Males:

Candidates have to complete Running test for 800 Mtrs within 4 minutes.

Male candidates have to lift and carry a person with the same weight. Also, without any break to a distance of 100 Mtrs by the Fireman lift method

Also, Climb a fire service extension ladder of 34 feet (10.5 Mtrs.) fully extended in 2 minutes.

Moreover, Test on driving skills with Fire Tender/heavy vehicle.

Females:

Candidates have to complete Running test for 800 Mtrs. within 6 minutes.

Female candidates have to lift and carry a person with the same weight. Also, without any break to a distance of 75 Mtrs by the Fireman lift method.

Also, candidate have to climb a fire service extension ladder of 27 feet (9 Mtrs.) fully extended in 2 minutes.

Moreover, Test on driving skills with Fire Tender/heavy vehicle.

ONGC Junior Assistant Technician Exam Pattern

However, The test will be multiple choice objective type test for a total of 100 marks.

No Negative Marking in CBT.

The total duration of the CBT test is 2 hours.

Moreover, The test will be conducted in English, Tamil & Hindi languages.

However, PwD candidates are given compensatory time for 40 minutes.
